AWS and DISG launch AI Springboard to help 300 Singapore enterprises adopt AI

AWS and DISG launch AI Springboard to help 300 Singapore enterprises scale AI adoption with funding, training, and technical support.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) have launched a new initiative called AI Springboard, designed to support 300 Singapore-based enterprises in accelerating their artificial intelligence (AI) transformation. The programme is part of broader efforts to position Singapore as a leading digital economy and AI hub in Asia.

Each participating enterprise will receive up to S$600,000 in support, including S$350,000 in baseline AWS cloud credits and training. Additional cloud credits may be available through AWS support programmes such as the Migration Acceleration Program and AWS Lift. The Singapore Government will also offer co-funded consultancy support of up to S$105,000 per enterprise as part of the broader Enterprise Compute Initiative (ECI), first introduced during the 2025 Budget statement.

Philbert Gomez, Senior Vice President and Head of DISG, said, “Singapore is taking decisive steps to strengthen our position as a leading digital economy and AI hub in Asia. The Enterprise Compute Initiative combines access to compute and expert consultancy, to support Singapore businesses in leveraging AI to sharpen their competitive edge. We are excited to partner with leading global technology companies, like AWS, whose deep capabilities and expertise will be instrumental to these efforts. Through the AWS AI Springboard, companies across all sectors will be empowered to accelerate their AI innovation from Singapore.”

Comprehensive resources and infrastructure

The AWS AI Springboard initiative aims to provide a structured path for enterprises—ranging from large companies to SMEs and startups—to build internal AI capabilities through Centres of Excellence. These centres are expected to deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), serving as early pilots for wider AI adoption.

Participants will receive support from AWS’s Generative AI Innovation Center, which includes expert guidance from data scientists and AI engineers. Monthly workshops will focus on advanced services such as Amazon Q, a generative AI assistant. Additional technical support will be available from AWS consultancy partners AiRTS and Temus, who will help enterprises design and implement AI use cases tailored to their operations.

To encourage talent development, companies will also receive AWS Skill Builder 2025 subscriptions and access to the AWS Career Launchpad, which includes subsidised training and salary support in partnership with Trainocate.

Enterprises will have the opportunity to collaborate with AWS at its new Innovation Hub, an 8,000-square-foot facility in Singapore built to support AI experimentation and adoption. The centre will allow companies to work directly with AWS and Amazon teams to design transformation plans using the Working Backwards methodology.

Eligibility and programme launch

The AI Springboard programme is open to all sectors and companies registered in Singapore with a valid Unique Entity Number (UEN), provided they meet the ECI’s eligibility requirements. These include demonstrating experience in developing a custom AI solution for a proof-of-concept.

Priscilla Chong, Country Manager of AWS Singapore, commented, “Singapore has always been at the forefront of digital innovation, and the Enterprise Compute Initiative is a timely catalyst for the next wave of AI-driven transformation. With AWS AI Springboard, we’re bringing together the full depth of our cloud and AI capabilities, hands-on expertise, and talent development programs to help enterprises in Singapore turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact. We’re proud to support this national effort to scale innovation with speed, confidence, and purpose.”

The launch event featured Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth, Ms Low Yen Ling, as guest of honour. Attendees also saw live demonstrations of AWS’s latest AI solutions and received detailed briefings on the programme’s benefits.
